Tata Motors unveiled its ‘Aria’, a cross-over between a multi-utility and sports utility vehicle, 2010 but it is not disclose when it will commercially launch Aria.
Tata Aria is a seven seater multi utility vehicle and most likely it will be equipped with the 2.2L, DICOR (Direct Injection Common Rail) engine which is currently powering the company’s most popular SUV Tata Safari. This 2.2L engine got much popularity in the Indian auto market because of its high performance with excellent fuel efficiency. This 2.2L, Dicor engine can produce 140bhp of maximum power at 4000rpm with 320Nm of maximum torque at 1700~2700rpm.
Tata Aria is a versatile cross-over which will be loaded with all stylish features that any premium SUV offer and it will take place between MUV and SUV. Tata Aria is an eight seater luxurious MUV model build on roadster concept that Tata Motors displayed Geneva Motor Show in year 2000. With the launch of Tata Aria the company plans make its position stronger also in premium vehicle segment. The company however not disclosed the exact prices of Tata Aria but it the company official indicates that it might be priced in the range of Rs 12 to 15 lacs. The company plans to launch Tata Aria with highly competitive price tag to give tough competition to other models of its segment like Ford Endeavour, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Innova, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Captiva, Toyota Fortuner and yet to launch Skoda Yeti.

It is expected that Tata Aria will be launched with three variants and its all variants will be available with both 4WD (Four Wheel Drive) and 2WD (Two Wheel Drive Option). Tata Aria will be the most luxurious MUV in its segment and it will feature an array of advanced features at lower price tag. The interior features that might be available with Tata Aria are Leather Covered Steering Wheel, Gear Shift Knob and Leather Seats, Headrest mounted LCD Screen, Power and Tilt Steering, Power Windows at all four doors, Automatic Climate Control AC, Keyless Entry, Advanced CD/MP3 Audio System, Cup Holders on Floor Console, Cigarette Lighter and Ash-Tray in Front Console, Rear Wash and Wiper, Electrical Glass Demister, “Follow Me Home” that illuminate your path after parking for 30 seconds, Digital Outside Temperature Indicator, etc.
Most of the utility vehicles have problem of rear visibility at the time parking but the new Tata Aria will be equipped with the reverse guide system that reduces the rear visibility problem. Tata Aria will also be equipped with advanced active and passive safety features to ensure safety of the driver and passengers inside the car. Safety features which are expected to be available with Tata Aria are ABS (Antilock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), Dual Front Airbags, Anti Submarine Seats, Side Impact Bars, Disc Brakes, etc.
Tata Aria is supposed to come with high-tech multimedia features. It include advanced CD player, USB/Bluetooth connectivity, 3D sound etc. GPS navigation form mapmyindia and six-speaker audio system are lined up for the new machine.
There is a huge expectations from Aria as its the first crossover from Tata.Its interior is classic and exterior is massive but overall it has to face a huge competition with other SUV's.
